Mindful Running Course
“I really like to whole idea of bringing mindfulness to running, tuning into what is going on with the body whilst we run and being reminded to smile!”
- Simon, Cambridge
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for one person and bespoke. However, if there is more than one person, please get in touch as we arrange a reduction in costs depending on the numbers of people that would like to do the course together.
WHY MINDFUL RUNNING?
Mindful running can help you prevent injuries and improve your runnning technique. This four week course goes through different aspects of how we can apply mindfulness to our running practice. Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to whatever is happening in our lives, inside and out, in the present moment. When we connect with the present, we become aware of habitual patterns of thought, emotion and behaviour.
With mindfulness, we train ourselves to pay close attention to what is going on in the present moment; just as it is. Much of our suffering is a result of regrets about the past, worries about the future or judgments about the present. When we are mindful we become aware of and explore these habitual thought patterns and ways of reacting. This attitude of curiosity allows us to create new and healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges.
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE COST?
Goal setting and measurement of outcomes after the course
4 x weekly 45 minute one to one online sessions including mindfulness instruction on running and techniques
Practice exercises to do between each session
Support materials
Mindful running can prevent injuries in the long run and calm your mind. Repetition is the mother of all skills and the more you practice something you are more likely to take it into your life. Research shows that it takes at least 21 days and in some cases 40 days to create a new habit.
Sign up today and make a skillful choice for your body and mind. If you would like to know more then please get in touch and we can talk you through the content of the course on the phone.
